Business Development Consultant
Katherine began at ProVita in June 2013 in the role of admissions manager and as of May 2015 is acting business development consultant. Katherine oversees all functions related to patient admissions operations for ProVita Abu Dhabi & Al Ain and manages relations with international and local referral sources. She graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with a BS in Health Sciences pre-medical concentration. She received several academic honors scholarships including the Presidential Global Scholars Award. Katherine has 3 years of clinical and volunteer experience in the local Boston community at organizations including Harvard Medical School Affiliate Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Massachusetts Department of Public Health as well as in the international community at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, Dominican Republic and throughout several clinics and non-profit organizations in the U.S. and Eastern Africa.

"Fernando Parker brings ProVita more than 13 years of extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational initiatives for diverse and complex multi-level organizations. He is the founder of LifeWise Home Healthcare, a provisional healthcare provider focusing on home based long term and continuous palliative, curative, and specialty care. Following ProVita’s acquisition of LifeWise in September 2016, Fernando joined the ProVita team as the Director of the newly formed Home Health Services Division, where he is responsible for defining and driving ProVita’s home based efforts to increase the length and quality of lives for their patients, families, and the communities they serve. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland University College.
Dr. Jamil Itani, M.D.
Dr. Jamil finished his medical school in 1999 at Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy. After Graduation he joined the Pediatric Department at Berbir Hospital in Beirut, as a pediatrician – hospitalist. In 2001 he joined the Pediatric Residency Program at MGH/AUBmc – Beirut. Dr. Jamil graduated in 2004 and worked as a pediatrician in a private practice. He also participated in general CME activities and has been an active member of Tawam Life Support Training Center as PALS and NRP instructor. Dr. Jamil joined ProVita in February 2012.
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Davis brings to ProVita 26 years of critical care and 15 years of clinical and operational leadership experience with large acute and post-acute hospital systems in the US including Kindred, Triumph, RehabCare and Tenet Healthcare. Prior to joining ProVita, Michael served as a Market CEO for Kindred Healthcare in Houston, TX and served as Chief Clinical Officer for the Hospital Division of Triumph Healthcare/ RehabCare with clinical operational oversight of 36 long-term acute care and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals across the United States. Michael received his education from McNeese University in Lake Charles, LA, USA.
Dr. Ahmad Al Khayer
Consultant Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine
Dr. Ahmad Al Khayer, Consultant Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services Dr. Al Khayer brings over 20 years of medical experience with him to ProVita. He joins us as from Al Ahli Hospital, Qatar, where he established a revolutionary department specializing in physical and rehabilitation medicine. Prior to that, he worked in the United Kingdom as a consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at the North Staffordshire Rehabilitation Centre. He also worked briefly in the Republic of Ireland and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Al Khayer completed his training in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine in the West of Scotland deanery, UK. He also completed a clinical fellowship in advanced pain medicine at the Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Trust, UK, and a clinical research fellowship in Spinal disorders at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery. Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK. Dr. Al Khayer is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the European Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine Society, and a Fellow of the International Society of Quality in Healthcare. He is a regular contributor to international peer-reviewed medical journals such as the ‘International Journal of Therapies and Rehabilitation Research’, and is a reviewer of the journal ‘Spine’. Dr. Al Khayer’s approach to clinical care is largely grounded on the holistic multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary models. He firmly believes in working closely with the patient and his family in order to develop patient-centered rehabilitation goals. His focus areas include general rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, as well as interventional rehabilitation management procedures. Through his role at ProVita, Dr. Al Khayer will collaborate with the team to ensure that only the highest quality of rehabilitation care is provided to patients, and to strengthen the center as a provider of long and short-term post-acute rehabilitative care in the UAE.
Christina Shawky Boehme
Christina Shawki Bohim holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing and Health Sciences from the German Nurses Association (DBfK) in Munich and the University of Hamburg.
Christina is not only the founder of the Provita Center, but is the founder / owner of a nursing academy in Germany to train and rehabilitate nursing staff. Since its establishment in 1995, more than 600 qualified nurses have graduated from this institution.
Christina received the Saint Michel Medal from Austria for her efforts to save the lives of others. She is a speaker at local and international conferences, such as the European Health Conference in Munich and other events. Christina lectures at the Provita Academy and other nursing schools.
Alta De Villiers
Director Of Education and Training , Abu Dhabi & Al Ain
Alta Du Vieux has extensive experience in nursing for more than 27 years at various levels, including 18 years in the Middle East. The last place where Alta worked was Medicinic Wilcare Hospital, where she worked for three years, her main contribution in education and staff development.
Prior to that, she served as Head of Nurses for more than 10 years at the American Hospital in Dubai, where she was Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Department of Pediatrics. Alta received a Diploma in General Nursing Science in 1986 and a Diploma in Nursing in 1990 from South Africa.

Darshak Shah brings in more than 21 years of experience in Human Resource Management with 16 years spent in the United Arab Emirates.
Darshak Shah joined PROVITA on April 1, 2015 and was able to lead and successfully contribute to several important projects such as Oracle Fusion, due diligence of suppliers and price fixing. Derschak offered Provita extensive experience in financing health care institutions, having previously worked in a number of major health care hospitals operated by Health. Darshak has more than 16 years of experience in finance and has spent 12 years in the healthcare sector. He strongly believes in strong internal controls and processes. He is a Chartered Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Certified Public Accountant from the United States Institute of Management Accountants (ACA). He has also passed the General Legal Accounting Examination in the United States.
Director of Human Resources
Stanley Rodriguez has over 21 years experience in human resources management, with 16 years of experience in the UAE. Stanley completed his education in the study of trade and worked to enhance his career by obtaining a master's degree in business administration in the field of human resources management. Stanley's extensive experience in the UAE's labor law and human resource practices has helped him manage HR services in many areas, including healthcare.
Director of Operations, Al Ain
In the last three years, Mr. Gardner has been serving as a hospital administrator in Bahrain, where he is responsible for daily administrative tasks and hospital management in general. Its role included particular emphasis on accreditation processes, policy development, strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, risk management and patient safety. Prior to that he worked for eleven years as Director of Nursing in Bahrain for four years in the same position in a general hospital with 150 beds in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Gardner is a Director with extensive clinical experience, through his earlier work in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and Injury Section. He has extensive experience for 30 years working in the UK, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in a number of governmental, non-profit and private healthcare institutions and managing a large number of staff from multinational backgrounds. Mr. Gardner has experience in project management, including the implementation of electronic medical records and patient management systems. He also pays special attention to the field of medical ethics and the legal aspects of medical management of hospitals.
Director of Revenue Cycle Management
Walid is a seasoned healthcare specialist with more than 10 years of experience in healthcare and health insurance in the UAE and the Middle East. Its primary focus is on revenue management, data integration, logical analysis, risk management, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Provita, Waleed worked in a range of leading healthcare and health insurance institutions including Al Noor Hospitals Group, BBS Healthcare Group and National Health Insurance Company - Daman. Waleed is an active member of the Abu Dhabi Health Authority (HAAD), the Data Standards Committee and the Clinical Data Coding Steering Committee and is looking to innovate information systems and incentives to improve health care in a sustainable way with regard to compulsory health insurance. Walid holds a master's degree in business administration with honors from the New York Institute of Technology and is currently studying for a certified insurance specialist certification. His current mission includes the overall management of all revenue related work and reporting of health care services provided by the Provita Medical Center (Abu Dhabi and Al Ain) and assists in providing the revenue cycle staff with information to maintain consistency of long-term strategy with the organization's objectives. To enhance the efficiency of the management of rejected cases and the overall health of cases received by the Group.
Director of Facilities Management & Special Projects
Wendy Thompson began her career in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia in April 2000 and moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2003. She joined SKMC in Abu Dhabi and managed 37 beds for serious cases. During her tenure at the Medical City, Wendy took over several new projects and managed them: • Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program - 2005 • Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program - 2006 • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - 2009 • Renal Transplant Program - 2010 Wendy is currently studying at the Chapley School of Business In Australia for an MBA degree.
