NMC ProVita Nurse wins esteemed DAISY Award

Our very own ProVita nurse picked up the universally recognized DAISY award after being nominated by the patient she cares for. Bernadette Augustin, from ProVita Abu Dhabi campus was presented the award by NMC Senior Vice President of Quality and Nursing, Helen King. DAISY stands for ‘Diseases attacking the Immune System’ and was set up in memory of patient Patrick Barnes who died from an autoimmune disease, in the USA in 1999. His family was so impressed by the dedication and compassion shown by the nurses they wanted to recognize and thank nurses who go above and beyond their call of duty. Today DAISY is recognized in all 50 states and 28 other countries including the UAE. It is the most prestigious of awards in the Nursing arena and has tough criteria to even warrant being nominated. We are very proud of Bernadette for being nominated and for winning this award. The testimonial given by her patients clearly demonstrated just how much she had impacted her life by demonstrating compassion, humanity, patience, and love. She is truly an inspiration to us all.
